feel art
Are you ready to begin a journey through the vast universe of art? We take you on a trip that is unusual: a journey of ...read morediscovery and intuition – to the place where you can appreciate art outwards from the heart, rather than inward only from the intellect. We believe art is not meant to be understood rationally: just as the artist uses colors and shapes that are often instinctive and intuitive, you can react to a work of art with the most unpredictable collection of feelings. This is because art connects us to our essence, and redeems everything that is most genuine within us, in the story of our life. We believe it is this emotion, not any analysis, that will likely decide your choice – informed, clearly, with a good dose of your own information, and also some added knowledge and context that we provide you with, on this journey. We believe art is truly capable of transcending context and conventional reactions, to raise consciousness through feeling, instinct and emotion. And it was because we were mobilized by the force of art that we have created this platform. Its purpose is to bring Brazilian art to the world – in a way that is simple, but profound – and also, above all, to give the proper value to the person who provides us with this experience of delight: the artist. Below, you can read a little more about who we are and what we are trying to do.
NOSSO PROPÓSITO
AUTENTIK ART: OUR AIM AND PURPOSE
The internet has changed the world dramatically. Technology has demolished cultural walls, transformed professions, given us the access to knowledge, and made nearly all things feasible – at the touch of our fingertips.

With one click we can travel to distant countries, know other cultures, immerse ourselves in the universe of a book or movie. Cultural experiences like these enable us to travel through time, dive into ourselves, or into the unknown. They provoke imagination, critical thinking, transformation – of us, of communities.
In culture, though, there is one area that has lacked this mobility – this ‘portability’ – and prominence. That is the visual arts: painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, art in general.
It has remained an area that is much-fragmented, still reached only through a market or network of restricted art galleries. Access to works of art has in principle been limited not only by physical–geographical boundaries, but by the fact that there is no opportunity to see the whole range of a trend. No easy-to-assimilate what to see into the whole of the history and world of art: no way to feel and assess the individual comparative significance of an individual artist whose work is before your eye.

In addition to this hurdle, the ‘market’ model does not even give the artist a prominent position in the value structure of the chain – in spite of the fact that the artist is the main engine in this process of awareness, and creation of value. As it is at present, the process undermines the importance of the individual artist – and, also, his remuneration.
This is what we want to reverse.
The artists – who dream for us, the visionaries, who heighten our feelings, who warm our hearts and feed our spirits with their creations; who make us contemplate their understanding of the world and adjust and polish our own. These people who take us to a higher place where we are better in the world, these prime movers, who shape the history not only of art but of all mankind; – have become to some extent just cogs in a machine.

This is why we, autentikart, now raise the flag for the artist – for direct liberation, appreciation and promotion of those who dedicate their lives to making art.
We aim for a change of the paradigm and models of delivering art to its admirers: we bring forward a way of buying – investing in – art, via the web, that does not function as an intermediary, a middleman getting in the artist’s way, but as promoter of the artist’s direct interest, enabling a well-deserved better profit. We want our artists to have recognition in their lifetime: we do not believe in fame being only deserved posthumously!
The world moves forward to new ways and means, increasing world awareness and the humanization of processes. Less can be more. So we seek the appreciation and promotion of the original, the authentic – hence the word ‘autentik’ in our name.

While the world goes for ‘fast food, ‘fast fashion’ – and maybe even ‘fast art’, we resist the cheap, disposable and merely cosmetic. We go for the slow: mature, quality works from long-established artists who have developed a long-term coherence and approach.
Our online platform aims to offer a fine selection of art with real value. Like the physical gallery, it is both a trading/selling establishment and an inventory, but as well as this, it comes to you equipped with much more comprehensive support: an encyclopedic knowledge base about our artists in particular, and the trends in the history of art in general – designed to help educate and guide our clients on their purchases and reflections.
We offer not only works and prices, but guidance – indeed also guidance on investment, and value appreciation. We give voice and prominence to Brazilian, local artists, because that is where we come from, and where we can see the immediate need – to open doors for these artists who have not yet received this presentation. And we pledge to do it in profound, analytical and transparent ways.
